She's best known for her love of down-to-earth, low-key style.
But Rachel McAdams embraced futuristic fashion for the premiere of eagerly-awaited new Richard Curtis film About Time in London on Thursday night.

Futuristic fashion: Rachel McAdams wore a light
lavender Roksanda Illincic gown to the premiere of About Time at
Somerset House on Thursday
The dramatic gown, which was long-sleeved and had a train which dragged along the ground, was cinched in at the waist with a perspex belt.
With jutting shoulder pads and a long blue turquoise panel down the back, the dress certainly wasn't a safe choice for the star, who clearly wanted to make an impact.
Stand-out style: The dress was cinched in at the waist with a perspex belt and had a blue panel running down the back
Making an impact: The star certainly made sure that all eyes were on her in the dramatic gown at the premiere
She was joined at the central London venue with her leading man Domhnall Gleeson, who looked dapper in a simple grey suit and navy tie.
Seeming in great spirits he laughed as the cameras snapped away, putting his arms around co-stars Bill Nighy and Margot Robbie.
Fiery red: Rachel's hair looked like it had been dyed a more eye-catching hue for the London opening
Posed up: Rachel put her arms around her co-stars Lydia Wilson and Margot Robbie ahead of the screening
Watch that train! Margot looked on as Rachel negotiated the long train on her dress, which dragged across the floor
Differing looks: Margot looked chic in a floor-length white gown, while Lydia striped skirt and black bustier
Richard Curtis proudly posed ahead of the screening of his new film, joined by wife Emma Freud who looked chic in a monochrome trouser suit, clutching a popcorn-shaped handbag.
What an entrance: Rachel stepped out of her car to be greeted by crowds of adoring fans
Dapper chaps: The film's leading man Domhnall Gleeson and co-star Bill Nighy wore suits and blue ties for the London premiere
In great spirits: The actor seemed on top of the world as he grinned and pulled faces for the cameras
Another surefire hit: Richard Curtis posed with
wife Emma Freud who wore a monochrome ensemble ahead of the opening of
his eagerly-anticipated film
Slated for general release in the UK on September 4, the film stars Gleeson who is determined to use his gift to get himself a girlfriend, but unwittingly erases his whole timeline.
