Miley Cyrus performs We Can't Stop on German TV... with a band of twerking dwarfs
Her bizarre stage antics with Robin Thicke at the Video Music Awards have divided even the most loyal of her fans.
But
as the dust settles on THAT performance, Miley Cyrus was back onstage
with a live rendition of current single We Can’t Stop – accompanied by a
band of musical dwarves.
The
20-year-old singer left the provocative gyrations that overshadowed her
VMAs performance in the locker when she performed the track on Saturday
during an appearance on German TV show Schlagg Den Raab.

However, the event was given a surreal twist courtesy of the diminutive band, which played instruments, performed backing vocals and even indulged In Miley’s favourite pastime – twerking.
Dressed in tight denim cut-offs, loose short and thigh-length stockings, the singer frequently crouched down with microphone in hand in order to dance with her band.
That same evening Miley had posted a series of backstage shots on Twitter, one of which shows her striking a pose with her five-strong band of dwarves.

Miley’s increasingly odd performances have prompted Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to abandon plans to recruit Miley as a cover girl for the magazine.
The singer had been photographed for the December issue of the magazine, but following a divisive appearance at the VMAs Wintour opted out of championing her as an a ‘fashion icon.’

Anna found the whole thing distasteful,’ a source says. ‘She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.’
Miley is currently preparing for the release of new album Bangerz – her fourth in total but the first to be released during what appears to be a radical makeover to her image and sound.
Speaking to Billboard earlier this year, the hit-maker admitted she was embarrassed by her wholesome back catalogue of songs, many of them recorded as Hannah Montana.

She said: “Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over.
‘My last record I feel so disconnected from – I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you're in your 20's, you just don't really know that person anymore.’
‘I want to start as a new artist. I consider my upcoming album my first, really.’
